Stocks Stumble And Fall Due To High Unemployment Still…

The FED is still calling for a 2.7% growth so this is not a “recession” technically but who can trust anything coming out of Bernake’s mouth anyway.

“400,000 is the magic number and we’ve been above it for 11 weeks,” said Lawrence Creatura, who manages a stock portfolio at Federated Investors. “This is no longer looking like a small soft patch. It’s beginning to look more like quicksand.”

The Dow Jones industrial average lost 185 points, or 1.5 percent, to 11,925 in midday trading.

Looks Like The Majority Of People Think The Media Is Liberal And Biased

Well it looks like most people are smart enough not to trust the media…67% of them say the media is trying to push agendas and not being neutral.  Now if we could only get those 67% of the people do to something about it.

67%t of likely U.S. voters believe that reporters try to bolster their preferred candidate when covering an election, while 46% believe that the average reporter is more liberal than they are, according to the national telephone survey.

- Forty-eight percent of voters believe most reporters would “hide any damaging information they learned to help the candidate they wanted to win.”

Only 21 percent of respondents, on the other hand, have faith that journalists are fair and balanced in their coverage, and 18 percent find the fourth estate’s political leanings to be more conservative than their own.

Give Up On The War On Drugs!

Hillary Clinton Anouced that we will give an extra $300,000,000 to Central America to help fight the war on drugs.  Aren’t we having an internal budget crisis in the USA right now? Shouldn’t we be spending that money to: Pay off debt? Fix inner city schools? Decrease medical costs for elderly? Wage war against the huge human trafficking market in the USA? Or How About we just hire 10,000 USA citizens at $30,000 a year to help turn around the economy?

My list of better uses for this money goes on and on and on… Not to mention with the full budget for the war on drugs in Central America now at $1,800,000,000 (1.8 Billion/$30,000 = 60,000 people getting paid $30,000 a year.) we could really start to take chunks out of our out of control deficit.

Mrs Clinton told a regional security conference in Guatemala that the US would increase its aid by more than 10% to nearly $300m (£187m).

Analysts say the figure is still small, given that more than two-thirds of cocaine sent from South America to the US now passes through Central America.

In total, some $1.8bn was promised to support the region’s security.

The World Bank is to provide $1bn in the coming years, said Pamela Cox, the bank’s vice preident for Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Inter-American Devleopment Bank (IADB) will also offer $500m over two years.

Announcing the increased US funding, Mrs Clinton said Washington was committed to helping the region.
