Top 3 Tablets 2012 [BEST TABLET]

1. Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

Pros- thing this has a beautiful 10 in screen and  a quad core processor that will stand the test of time.  Great software support from Samsung. A 5 mega pixel rear facing camera.  The newest Android software.  This tablet coups fully replace a laptop. 

Oh and the best part it has a stylus you can use like a pen on the screen turning the whole thing into an interactive note pad. (Hence the name)

Cons – $499.99 prove tag.  Make sure you get a screen protector and a case to protect this investment.

2. Google Nexus7

Pros-its only $200 its fully supported by Google which means it will get the latest software updates for at least 3 years. Has a beautiful screen.  7 inch tablets travel nice.

Cons- its only got a tegra3 processor so it might start to feel slow in the next year or two. It’s got no fear facing camera.  Only a front facing one for video chat,  so if you plan on taking pictures with it this is not the tablet for you.

3. Google Nexus 10

Pros – This is a bigger version of the nexus7 listed above.  It’s also had a rear facing 5 mega pixel camera which the smaller version is missing. 

Cons- almost as expensive at the Samsung Note 10.1 but lacks the good processor and the stylus.

I would look to buy the Samsung tablet listed below on Amazon it comes in either wifi only or one you can buy a cell days service for.  Personally I would go with the wifi only version because you can always use your phone as a mobile hot spot to get it Internet on the go if you need it.  The nexus tablets I would buy directly from Google to avoid any distributor markup.  (Www.google.com/play)

Guns Guns Everywhere… [GUN CONTROL]

In 2011 there were 8,775 people in the USA killed by firearms. (http://m.guardiannews.com/news/datablog/2011/jan/10/gun-crime-us-state)

There are over 310 million registered guns in the USA. Yeah, thats right enough for almost every person to own 1 weapon.  (www.cnn.com/2012/08/09/politics/btn-guns-in-america/index.html?c=&page=2)

Our own “Homeland Security” just bought 950 million rounds of assault rifle ammunition to use to control the population of the USA. (http://www.infowars.com/dhs-purchases-200-million-more-rounds-of-ammunition/)

However a closer look at the numbers will show you some facts. 

If the above mentioned murders all took place with a different gun for each one the equation below would show the ratio of gun used for murder vs guns owned. 

8,775÷310,000,000
=0.0000283064

0.0000283064×100
=0.00283064%

This shows that less than three ten thousandth of a percent of fire arms in the USA are used for murdering. 

If this doesn’t show you that guns aren’t the problem than nothing will. 

TREAT THE PERSON NO THE OBJECT. 

This is true with drug addiction, alcoholism, and I believe violence.

We are obviously failing our young male population.  To the point where to often they are lashing out violently at innocent victims. 

I know it is easier for people to want to say Adam Lanza (the shooter in CT) was a lost cause or was mentally disabled or whatever you want to say,  but the kid needed help and we as a society failed him.  Let’s stop this culture of “the blame game” and start taking  responsibility for our societies actions.  This is not the guns fault. This is our fault for letting someone who so obviously needed help fall through the cracks and it cost us all tragically.

I am open to any and all suggestions. Let’s have a really discussion about how to save these young men. Let’s turn this tragedy into a turning point where we find a solution to this tensing problem. Let’s do this for the families, for the children and for our future.

DNA Hacking, The Future of Weapons [FUTURE TECH ]

So I know it has been a while since I shared a new post with everyone, but with all of the election garbage going on and my busy personal life i just haven’t had the time, or maybe there just hasn’t been anything worth writing about…either way today i cam across something straight out of the future.

And WHAT A DARK FUTURE IT MAY BE!

With the ever increasing power of computer processor we have been able to accomplish some pretty amazing feats, maybe the most amazing is mapping the human G-Nome.  Well soon this new technology is going to lead to a dark fear filled future for anyone with any sort of enemy.

Basically, we have developed the ultimate weapon.  It is precise, leaves no evidence and doesn’t destroy any infrastructure, or cause any collateral damage.  It is a bio weapon the kills a specific DNA. It can be used to kill a specific person or a certain type of person.  Basically this is Hitler’s Dream WEAPON.  

So next time you are afraid your computer password got hacked take a deep breath and relax.  At least it wasn’t your DNA.  Also it has made me think twice about throwing out that paper cup or that tissue into the trash.  In the year to come protecting your DNA might be more important than protecting your passwords.

And now the same man responsible for decoding the human Genome, Craig Venter, has created a synthetic chromasome capable of replicating itself. The delivery method for destruction exists.
• Internet crowdsourcing: You don’t need to be a PhD level nerd to hack together a catastrophic bioweapon. You can draw from a plethora of information available on the web, or databases of gene sequences which are made available from previous public projects. Believing You Are A Victim… [Mitt Romney]

I would like to start by saying I AM NOT A SUPPORTER OF MITT ROMNEY. (nor Obama)

Today all the rage on the blogosphere is about how ol’ Mitt lashed his tongue and the less privileged.  I think its a bunch of garbage and a stupid thing to stay, but he was at least on the right train of thought. 

To my understanding the fact about, 47% of the population has taken some sort of federal support from the government, is true. I do not have a problem with him calling out the people who “think they are victims”. I think way to many people decided long ago that their life was going to come easy and money and iPhones were going to rain down from the sky on them without them having to do any work for them.  Its one of the biggest problems i see in youth today and it comes from most of their parents.  Entitlement! And when what they feel they are entitled to doesn’t come easily to them, they instantly become a victim.  Its like they can’t believe that after all of the lack of work they have done they didn’t reach their goals. Goals are met by hard work, long hours, and practice.  America was not built on the backbones of freeloaders it was built on the backs of hard workers and innovators.

I do however think it might be the dumbest thing ever for him to think…

First, the idea that people cannot change for the better is sickening to me.  How can you rule out 47% of the USA population as failures so easily? Mitt, you are only playing to the victimization they already feel. If they truly cannot be turned around THAN THE TRULY ARE VICTIMS.

Secondly, a Man (or Woman, not in the election though) who makes his goal to convince the population to take personal responsibility and care for their lives, is a man who is worthy of being president of the USA. In fact that is exactly what you should be trying to do. 

I would becoming the biggest supporter in the world of the first Politician who runs on the platform of just that. It would be a breath of fresh air for the USA to put some of its wasted tax money into “Convincing People to Take Personal Responsibility and Care For Their Lives” In fact this should be a class taught in high school…

It would be called “ITS YOUR LIFE TAKE CONTROL OF IT” and be required to pass in order to graduate. 

We need to stop giving money to problem citizens of the country and start invest time and education into fixing the problems. I am not going to get into the list of things I think are problems, but I wanted to clarify I do not blame this on people, I blame this on the lack of motivation, education, and circumstance that holds these people back from being successful.  I wouldn’t even mind if I had to pay higher taxes if instead of a welfare check, people got a life coach.

 

A life coach who:

Came and woke them up every morning EARLY.

Helped them apply for JOBS get needed EDUCATION.

Or whatever else they needed help with to become a PRODUCTIVE MEMBER OF SOCIETY.

Just STOP giving them money to buy drugs and booze. I know some of you will say, “Not everyone on a social benefit program is buying drugs and booze”. I say you are correct, but how many of them own iPhones or flat screen TV’s. That is besides the point anyway, because if someone who is collecting from the government is actually trying to better their life,  they should have no issue with a life coach coming and helping them succeed at it.

WE NEED TO CHANGE THE PROCESS TO FIX THE PROBLEM.

The NSA Has Its Own Facebook It Uses To Track Everyone.

The story below was reported by people covering a hacker convention in NYC. Most of you have some idea that the USA government is spying on your electronic activities, but I bet you never even imagined it went this far. Basically every single thing you have ever posted, emailed, uploaded, text, and even spoke through any electronic device since at least 2001 has been saved and cataloged by the NSA. This weekend in New York City was a three-day hackers’ conference called HOPE Number 9 which is only held every two years; HOPE stands for “Hackers on Planet Earth” and there’s always a lot of great info that comes out
of it.

One of the quotes floating around in regard to #HOPE9 came from Founder and CEO of Pallorium Inc’s Steven Rambam as “Rambam’s first law: All databases will eventually be used for unintended purposes.” This is the same man who spoke at the 2008 HOPE about “Privacy is dead – Get over it.” In regard to this year, you will probably find private investigator Rambam’s newest revelations coming soon to 2600. Surveillance is one of those purposes that databases may be used for and NSA whistleblower William Binney knows plenty about domestic spying.

Binney was at HOPE and while his entire keynote is not yet posted, journalist Geoff Shively and Livestreamer Tim Pool had an opportunity to speak with Binney about NSA spying. As you may recall, after covering the NATO protests, Pool and Shively were two of the journalists harassed by Chicago cops. In the short video interview, Binney explained a bit more about the NSA spying on Americans:

“Domestically, they’re pulling together all the data about virtually every U.S. citizen in the country and assembling that information, building communities that you have relationships with, and knowledge about you; what your activities are; what you’re doing. So the government is accumulating that kind of information about every individual person and it’s a very dangerous process.” He estimated that one telecom alone was sending the government an “average of 320 million logs every day since 2001.”

The Hackers Are #WINNING!

After one of the largest Hacker Round ups by the FBI last week, it looks like it may have just all been for show. 

In an article posted today in The WSJ “US Outgunned In Hacker War” , the former head of the FBI Cyber Defense Department has stepped basically admitting defeat. Now he wouldn’t say that directly, but he said “We Are NOT Winning!”.  Which is a pretty powerful stance from the guy who is supposed to be in charge of making the Goverment Win.

James A. Lewis, a senior fellow on cybersecurity at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said that as gloomy as Mr. Henry’s assessment may sound, “I am actually a little bit gloomier. I think we’ve lost the opening battle [with hackers].” Mr. Lewis said he didn’t believe there was a single secure, unclassified computer network in the U.S.”

I always thought Apple fan boys/girls had a decent understanding  of being socially responsible. Many I think thought by buying Apple (a usa owned company) they thought they were helping America.

Well the truth is out Apple kills jobs in the USA and is killing their own employees around the world.

How Apple is pulling the shade o er their human rights violations.

To all the business owners out there pay close attention to this company. The secrets to your profits are coming into the light.

Secret #1 – How to make $100 billion in profits.

Answer – pay foreign suppliers (FOXCONN) to do your dirty work for you, sell a product that was made on the cheap, by the blood, tears, and inhuman treatment of these foreign employees and sell it to Stupid Americans who think you have cool commercials and “pretty” software.

Below is a repose to all of the Apple fanboy hate I have been receiving since I posted this article. It is a direct response to one of the comments below but it applies to many emails, comments, and hangouts I have been sent.

Apple is an American company and the most valued company in the world currently. By using a supplier that treats its employees so badly, they had to install suicide nets to keep their employees from killing themselves, Apple is setting a terrible example to other fortune 500 companies. By supporting Apple you are condoning the inhumane treatment of human beings to increase corporate profits.

I agree a phone blowing up in someones ear is a scary ordeal but it pales in comparison to setting such an evil moral standard for profitability.”

The Facebook App is a Battery Killer, BUT Why? [SHADY]

Hey tech community I got a question for you…

I recently factory reset my phone (ATRIX 4G running Gingerbread 2.3.4) and I noticed a huge improvement on the battery life. So I went back to the back up file to see what could have been using so much power.

I set my phone back up the exact same way it was before MINUS the facebook app, and my battery life has increased by 200% +. 

My question is I want to figure out how facebook is hiding their power consumption on my android phone and out them for it.  When I used any of the apps available to track what apps are draining my battery facebook always presented itself as a low consumption app using less than 5% normally.

However now I have come to the conclusion that was a gross underestimate and think it may be borderline fraud.

If anyone can help please let me know.

Also please share this discovery around and test it yourself. I want to see if this is the case on lots of Android devices or if it is just mine.

10 Reasons to Delete FACEBOOK

How to set up Google Voice To Manage Your Android Phone. [ANDROID LIKE A PRO]

So I have been getting asked all the time how to take full advantage of using google voice combined with an andropid phone so i figured i would work out some simple steps to try to help people use this great product on their phones to its fullest. I used a bunch of random peoples screen shots so don’t follow the red lines, but they are just meant to give you a better idea of what i am talking about.

1st -

you will need a google voice account.

1.) go to google and log into your gmail account.  then click on the “more” –> then “even more” from the drop down menu, scroll down until you find the google voice link and click on it.  it will walk you through some simple steps of setting up a google voice account.

2.) DO NOT PORT YOUR GOOGLE VOICE NUMBER TO YOUR CELL PHONE.  it will ask you if you want to do this and i don’t recomend it, Bascially that would change your cell number to your google voice number that you just picked out. it would also cause you to lose your current phone number, which is bad.

3.) It will ask you to for your real cell number as a way to verify the account.  USE THE CELL NUMBER YOU WANT TO MANAGE THE VOICE MAIL THROUGH.

Leave your computer be for a minute, and pick your phone back up again.

2nd

You will need to set up your google voice app on your phone

1.) go to the android market and download the app

2.) log in using the same information you just used to create the account. I recommend you select “do not use Google voice for any calls”

3.) I prefer the inbox widget, or the full half page widget on my phone both work great for managing voice mails and texts.

 

3rd

Time to connect the accounts.

1.) go back to your computer and go to the setting screen (do this by clicking the gear like looking icon on the left hand side near the top of your google voice inbox.

2.) on the “phones” tab you should see your mobile number listed under “MOBILE”

3.) below that there will be ahyper link the says “Activate your google voice mail on this phone”

4.) clcik there and follow the steps, it will ask to make a test call to your phone, and make you run some brief set up stuff on the app on your phone (depending on the device and carrier) then you will be ready to go.

 

When you get calls your phone should ring like normal, if you don’t answer it should be redirected to your voice mail recording on your Google voice.  Then after the caller leaves a message you will get a notification on your phone through the Google voice app.

Also their contact picture and a written transcription of what they said in the voice mail should appear in the widget.

Text messages sent to your Google voice number will also appear in the widget. TO GET FREE UNLIMITED TEXTING ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TELL EVERYONE TO TEXT YOU AT THE GOOGLE VOICE NUMBER INSTEAD OF YOUR NORMAL NUMBER.
